International Boundary and Line of Control (LoC)

International Boundary and Line of Control (LoC):

The International Border (IB) is the India–Pakistan Border which serves as a border between the countries of India and Pakistan. This is the international border that is recognized by the world.
The term Line of Control (LOC) refers to the military control line between the Indian and PoK. Conflict, which started in 1947 India-Pakistan war, ended with ceasefire line. And Shimla Agreement-1972, converted the cease-fire line into the Line of Control (LOC) between India and Pakistan and it was agreed that "neither side shall seek to alter it unilaterally, irrespective of mutual differences and legal interpretations".
In J&K, the LoC is under the operational control of the Army and the 192-km International Boundary (IB) in Jammu is manned by the Border Security Force (BSF).
Also adequate number of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel were deployed in J&K to assist the State Police in maintaining public order.
