ShaGun portal:

ShaGun portal:
The word 'Shagun' is coined from two different words – 'Shala', meaning Schools and 'Gunvatta' meaning Quality.
The Shagun portal creates a junction for all online portals and websites of the department of school education and literacy in the GOI and all states and UTs.
It will integrate the websites of over 1,200 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 600 Navodaya Vidyalayas, 22,000 CBSE affiliated schools, 30 state councils of educational research and training (SCERTs) and 19,000 organisations affiliated with National Council for Teacher Education (NCERT) and bring them on a common platform.
Through Shagun, more than 2.3 lakh educational websites can be integrated.
The portal seeks to connect around 92 lakh teachers, 26 crore students and the general public.
It will provide teachers, students and parents all the information that they need on school education.
Report-cards of 15 lakh schools all over the country will be available on the portal.
The website provides a very robust feedback mechanism. Common people can directly give their feedback about schools which will further increase the public participation and will ensure accountability and transparency.
The website also provides vital information relating to the availability of nearby schools, navigable distance vis-a vis aerial distance between schools.
